We are looking for a number of passionate and dedicated Social Workers available Full-time or Part- time for 8 hour AM or PM shifts across 7 days of the week.


Your Opportunity:

As a Senior Social Worker, you will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in mental health, AoD and homelessness patient care. This Social Work Grade 3 position holds a pivotal role within the Royal Melbourne Hospital Emergency Department (ED), providing an interface between allied health services, mental health, homelessness and community services.  You will work closely with the Emergency Department multidisciplinary team, Care Coordinators ED Social Workers  and emergency mental health team, This position will support the care of patients and their families with complex situations including homelessness, mental health, Ao D and forensic issues.

This position will also involve developing relationships with Mental Health Lived Expereince Peer Workers. 


About You:

  • Eligible for Australian Association of Social Workers membership
  • Minimum 7 years Social Work Experience Post Graduation
  • Extensive mental health social work experience
  • Demonstrated social work clinical leadership with proven ability to supervise the social workers
  • Experience in delivering social work interventions in busy environments
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly form rapport with people experiencing psychosocial crisis
  • Ability to develop relationships with a wide range of colleagues within the ED and community sector
