Melbourne Health is one of Victoria’s largest health care services providing a comprehensive range of acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services through inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.


We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Procurement and Supply team. This is a Full Time position, working 80 hours per fortnight, based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, City Campus.

Your Opportunity

Join the Procurement and Supply Leadership team at one of Victoria's most dynamic and innovative Health Sector organisations.

 

In this wide-ranging role, you will lead a talented team of purchasing and administration officers, to manage an increasing purchasing demand and to ensure we excel in delivering our services and pleasing our customers.

 

You will work closely with clinical and support services stakeholders, Accounts Payable, Sourcing and Supply Chain to:  

  • Manage purchasing demand from Melbourne Health customers and partner health organisations within agreed service performance parameters.
  • Contribute to securing supply of clinical and support services products by maintaining an extensive catalogue of items and managing multiple pricing agreements.
  • Report on the Procurement team performance to our customers and Executive.
  • Ensure our legislative compliance requirements are managed, achieved and reported.
  • Maintain a culture of owning your customer’s concerns by motivating the team and leading by example.

About You

  • Purchasing management and Oracle (or similar ERP) expertise is essential.
  • Managing and motivating teams to put the customer first.
  • Strong relationship building skills, coupled with great planning and organising abilities.
  • Proven success to work with wide range of customers and have a track record in delivering positive customer experiences.
  • Must possess problem solving skills, adaptability, resilience, high energy and determination.
  • Well versed in analysing data and be proficient in advanced use of Excel to identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Skilled in writing Executive and customer reports.
  • A good working knowledge of clinical products, services and processes is desirable.
