Life with Us:

The Intensive Community (ICT) team is part of the North Western Mental Health Aged Person’s Mental Health Programme. ICT criteria is persons aged 65 and over living in North/North East, Inner West/North West and Midwest/South West areas.

  • Our team is friendly and supportive. Our team, consisting of 4RNs, 2 EENs, a Social Worker and an O.T. are very approachable.
  • We work out of the Royal Park Campus. Our office is an open planned office.
  • ICT provides an alternative to a hospital admission. ICT can prevent admission and also facilitate early discharge from the wards. Intensive treatment is provided during the acute phase of a person’s illness.
  • ICT works collaboratively with consumers and their families
  • ICT operates 7 days a week from 08:30 – 5:00 PM

A Job to Be Proud Of:

  • Provide care as directed by a registered nurse to consumers under the ICT team
  • Responsible for assessing, monitoring, implementing plans, documenting and reporting every day to the team, all care and interventions provided and a status update about the consumer
  • May be required to supervise and/or administer medications; will work as part of a team
  • Work autonomously much of the time, however, will not make decisions autonomously
  • Utilize communication skills with families and other members of ICT and related services to ensure the best care is provided and communicated to all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing

Your Contribution:

  • Diploma of Nursing (EEN)  and current registration with AHPRA; or Certificate IV in Nursing with additional qualifications in medication administration
  • Recent experience working in the clinical field of mental health, particularly experience in acute mental health services
  • Demonstrate exemplary communication skills that will assist them in supporting and caring for consumers at aged care homes
  • Working knowledge of mental health legislation, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and diplomacy skills, including the capacity to effectively consult and problem solve
  • Current Victorian Drivers License
  • Ability to use information technology and Microsoft office application software
