Manager Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC)

Full Time, Fixed Term 12 months Parental Leave replacement

80 hours per fortnight, including ADO

 

Melbourne Health is one of Victoria’s largest health care services providing a comprehensive range of acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services through inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join the Office for Research. This is a Full Time, Fixed Term position working 80 hours per fortnight, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus.

Your Opportunity:

The Manager HREC will facilitate the efficient and effective review of research and quality assurance projects submitted to the Office for Research within a framework of comprehensive research governance including ethical, legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Management of ethical review of research and quality assurance projects
  • Review site-specific research governance submissions
  • Be the Executive Officer of the Melbourne Health Human Research Ethics Committee

About You:

  • 5 years' experience in Human Research/Ethics in a healthcare or academic setting
  • Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Research Ethics requirements in Australia
  • Solid working knowledge and application of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct of Human Research 2007 and Australian Code of Practice for Responsible Conduct of Research
