The Royal Melbourne Hospital, which is part of Melbourne Health, is a world-class teaching hospital and one of Victoria’s largest Trauma Centres. It provides general, specialist and trauma services and offers an exciting opportunity to further your specialty nursing skills through postgraduate study.

 

The Intensive Care Unit provides a supportive and exciting learning environment. ICU consists of 42 beds; including Cardio-thoracic, Trauma, Neurosurgical and Medical-surgical patients. The Royal Melbourne Hospital also supports critically ill patients requiring admission from both the Women’s hospital and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre.  The ICU Education department offers structured education programs including theoretical content & clinical assessments.


Your Opportunity:

  • The Introduction program gives you an opportunity to experience ICU over a 12 month period.  ICU experience not necessary but acute care experience is required.
  • The Bridging program is designed for nurses who already have acute post graduate qualifications from a related area- this would be an 18 month program. 
  • The Refresher program is for nurses who have existing post graduate qualifications in critical care but have not worked in the area for a few years- this would be an 18 month program.

All courses commence Monday 5th August 2019

Applications must include a cover letter addressed to the Nurse Unit Manager, clearly stating the program being applied for, a resume, transcript from Graduate program, any additional course transcripts and the contact details of two clinical referees.
