  • Full Time –80 hours per fortnight including ADO

Life with Us:

 

Based at John Cade Acute Adult Psychiatry Ward at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, City Campus, this position offers post registration experience as well as the clinical, further educational and on-going training support to enable the Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to further develop their clinical skills for work in an acute mental health in-patient unit.

 

Your new Team

  • Deliver high standards of consumer care, which is not limited to mental health and will holistically include the consumers spiritual, cultural and physical health needs
  • Demonstrate and contribute to medication safety, including safe medication administration
  • Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary teams
  • Advocate for consumers and drive a high standards of care
  • Complete admissions and discharges as per ward processes
  • Preceptorship and mentoring of undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate nurses

Your Contribution:

  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring patients understand and maintain the best possible physical health
  • Present an understanding of the most effective delivery of Evidence-Based Practice
  • Sound knowledge of, and demonstrated skills in, risk assessment, mental state assessment, and person-centred care planning
  • Capacity to deliver acute mental health nursing care from a Strengths-Based, Recovery-Focused framework
