The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities.  We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for three passionate and dedicated dietitians to join our Clinical Nutrition team. These are full time positions working 80 hours per fortnight, based at RMH City Campus 

 

RMH Nutrition


The Clinical Nutrition department consists of approximately 35 EFT across RMH sites. We provide care to our patients within the acute, subacute and community therapy services across all speciality services. We operate a 7 day service. The department is supported by the Clinical Nutrition Manager and is committed to providing evidence based, patient centred nutrition care. Wellbeing, supervision and reflective practice, professional development, student teaching, quality improvement and research are key focuses of our team.

 

The Role


Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Grade 2 dietitian to join a busy Clinical Nutrition department. We provide nutrition services across both City and Royal Park campuses, providing a full range of clinical services, including specialist services such as nutrition support for both intensive care and chronic care patients. The specific workloads assigned to these roles may vary but are likely to include acute medical and surgical inpatient, outpatient services and food services. Skills and experience of the successful candidate will be considered in determining clinical allocation.  This position is most likely to be based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus in Parkville and will include some occasional weekend shifts. Regular rostered days e.g. Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday may be considered.


About you:

  • Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in a tertiary hospital setting
  • Experience in the assessment and nutritional management of patients encompassing the provision of enteral nutrition
  • Experience in parenteral nutrition and weekend rostered shifts is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, proficiency in nutrition education and basic computer skills.
  • Experience in student supervision
  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement and service development
  • Eligibility for membership of DAA and APD credentialed
