If you are enthusiastic and want to work in a busy major trauma centre, The Royal Melbourne Hospital Theatre team is the place for you.


The RMH is looking for an operating theatre technician to work in the operating suite. 

 

The ideal applicants will have experience as a technician who can work across all specialities including neuro and complex ortho. The RMH is one of two major centres in Melbourne and offers excellent opportunities to increase your skills.


Your Opportunity:

  • Transportation services (Patients, Equipment, Blood, Specimens, Records, Supplies)
  • Provide patient assistance to Clinical staff (transfers of patients, positioning of patients, assist in surgical prepping)
  • Provide assistance with patient hygiene and other patient related services (Assist Nursing staff with various duties pertaining to the immediate patient area, clean relevant patient equipment)
  • Provide assistance with theatre staff (positioning theatre lights, equipment safety checks and connections)
  • Perform cleaning support services (operating theatre cleaning, remove, dispose of rubbish & recyclables, linen, waste)
  • Theatre Support Services (ensure relevant stock levels are maintained in all Theatre areas)

About You:

  • Demonstrated ability to practise collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team
  • Demonstrated provision of high quality patient care
  • High motivation and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work without direct supervision\ability to accept direction
  • Initiative in prioritising workload
  • High level of reliability and professional conduct
  • Have achieved a Certificate III in Health Service Assistance Operating Theatre Support 
  • Have a minimum of 6 months working experience as a Theatre Technician 
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style 
  • Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
