The Payroll Team Leader is responsible for providing accurate, timely and efficient payroll services for existing financial shared services customers and outsourced customers.
Essential Requirements for the Role:
Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, including salary disbursements, overpayment recovery, leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes and comply with relevant legislation
Ensure Payroll Officers are trained to complete the payrun process
Ensure Payroll Officers are trained to interpret, enter and check employee data and payments
Assist in the preparation and delivery for end of financial year processing
Work with the Payroll Operations Manager to set staff development objectives and ensure payroll teams are relieved to participate in training and development activities
Work with Payroll team members to ensure customer requests are attended to within agreed timeframes
Monitor statistics of calls to address opportunities for change and development
Ensure payroll records are maintained in accordance with established Pay Office procedures
Ensure all reconciliations are completed prior to forwarding reports to Finance for transfer of salaries to employee accounts
Issue separation certificates, social security information and bank letters upon request
Comply with Health Service policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Participate in Quality Improvement activities as required
Maintain confidentiality of all personnel and payroll documents and ensure that any information obtained during the course of employment is kept confidential and is used only for the performance of normal payroll functions
Assist in the development of safe working practices and the provision of a safe working environment by actively reducing hazards and focusing on accident prevention
