Clinical Programs provided by the NAMHS include:
- Adult Community Services (2 Community Teams)
- Adult Acute Inpatient Service (50 beds)
- EMH (including PACER) and Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry Service at the Northern Hospital
- Community Care Unit
- Prevention and Recovery Care Service (PARC)

We’re looking for a Clinician who thrives on working autonomously as well as part of a larger team of dedicated and talented people. This fantastic opportunity with the Emergency Mental Health Team at the Northern Hospital, is now available and waiting for the right person.
Our team of specialist clinicians want you to join them in providing innovative, recovery-focused care to those people who present to the Emergency Department experiencing a mental health crisis.
A Job to Be Proud Of:
- Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with consumers who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Provide a high level of clinical expertise in the assessment, provision of treatment and delivery of targeted interventions to consumers with complex mental health related needs and their family/carers
- Provide training and educational opportunities for police enhancing the mental health literacy of relatively junior and inexperienced operational police
- Provide an enhanced Police and Area Mental Health Service capability to respond to incidents whilst reducing the amount of time operational units spend with people presenting with mental illness and risk issues
Your Contribution:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers
- Ability to work with consumers, family and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, and to provide gender sensitive services
- Current recipient of individual clinical supervision, in addition to current provider of clinical supervision to less experienced nursing colleagues
