The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.


The Epilepsy Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital offers a comprehensive range of inpatients and outpatient services. Prolonged scalp and intracranial video-EEG monitoring is carried out at the purpose-built 4-bedded monitoring unit within the clinical neuroscience ward. Evaluation modalities for surgical candidates include high resolution volumetric MRI, ictal SPECT, PET, fMRI, diffusion and perfusion MRI, EEG source analysis, polysomnography, neuropsychology and neuropsychiatry. In addition to drug therapy and surgery, other treatment modalities offered include the traditional and modified ketogenic diet, vagus nerve stimulation, deep brain stimulation, and psychobehavioural therapy.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Epilepsy team. This is a Sessional/fixed term position, working 14 hours per fortnight, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Your Opportunity:

• attend Epilepsy outpatient clinics
• play an integral role in teaching and mentoring other junior medical staff
• be involved in epilepsy related research projects and trials

About You:

• MBBS and FRACP specialising in Neurology - Epilepsy
• highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
• ability to be innovative, resourceful and adapt to change
