The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Social Work  team. This is a part time role of 38 hours per fortnight as The Clinical Lead Social Worker (Grade 4).

Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Grade 4 Social Worker to join our team. Responsible for Clinical Leadership, this role works closely with Social Work management and broader stakeholders. Through your clinical and leadership expertise you will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in patient care, implementation and organisation of clinical and professional teams and fostering staff development.  You will work with key stakeholders to develop innovative models of care for a variety of patients and maximise the role of Social Work within the evolving organisational designated services. The Social Work Department has a well-established supervision program and supports ongoing professional development for all staff.


About You:

  • Social Work & postgraduate qualifications
  • Eligible for Australian Association of Social Workers membership
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Experience of leading effective working relationships within interdisciplinary teams
  • Supervisory skills and fostering staff development
  • Understanding of wider organisational and public health policy influences on acute public hospital services.
