About us

 

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Emergency Department is a busy and unique team that provides high level acute care in a multi-disciplinary setting. We are a Level 1 Adult Trauma and tertiary referral centre, with over 85,000 presentations annually.

 

The service provides assessment, investigations and treatment of all patients who present and is part of a designated Major Trauma Service and has a high acuity case mix with an emphasis on Trauma, Infectious Disease, Chest Pain Evaluation, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry.

 

A department centred on research, teaching and staff development, our staff have valuable opportunities to participate in post-graduate training, clinical programs and mentoring.

 

Our amazing team is also featured in the hit TV show, 'Emergency,' on Channel 9!

 

You new Nursing Role

  • Deliver a high standard of evidenced based nursing care to Emergency Department and Short Stay patients and their families Provide comprehensive, holistic nursing care
  • Understand the link between performance measures and the improvement of clinical care for patients and implements care to achieve patient flow within the service and achieve Emergency performance measures.
  • Explore career pathway opportunities
  • 12 hour shifts are available as an option to assist with work life balance

About You

  • Nurses with Emergency Department experience and/or a keen interest in Emergency Nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with health professionals at both a clinical and executive level
  • Interest and drive for self development
  • Currently in Victoria and fully vaccinated against COVID-19
