Orygen Youth Health – has an opportunity for a senior mental health clinician to join the multidisciplinary team at Orygen Specialist services Parkville. The Senior Clinician in the MOOD Stream is a key leadership position within Orygen Youth Health. The successful candidate is expected to have significant expertise in the provision of mental health services to young people with severe mental health issues and is expected to provide psychological treatment and case management to a caseload of clients.

 

Your new team


Orygen Youth Health (OYH), a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital's NorthWestern Mental Health Service, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 15 to 24 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness. OYH also works alongside Orygen, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health which operates four primary mental health care headspace services in the catchment area.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

 

  • Provide clinical leadership in the Youth Mood Clinic to ensure evidence based best practice and contemporary models of care for young people
  • Capacity to provide, or develop skills in, integrated assessment, treatment and care for dual diagnosis clients
  • Provision of case management or family work to selected clients and associated documentation
  • Attendance at clinical review meetings

 

Your Contribution

 

  • You are an experienced clinician with an interest in working with young people and making a difference.
  • A working knowledge of community-based organisations and human services organisations
  • Commitment to the development of integrated clinical research within the service
