The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) provides specialist, general acute and sub-acute health services. Primarily serving the north-western communities of Melbourne, RMH also provides state-wide and specialist services to rural and regional Victorians.
Services range from Aged Care, Rehabilitation, Cardiovascular and Major Trauma, to Oncology, Intensive Care, General Medicine and Neuroscience.
The Vascular Surgery Non-accredited Registrar at the Royal Melbourne Hospital will undertake a full time appointment in vascular surgery unit. The position provides experience in core general vascular surgery with plus opportunities for familiarisation in open aortic surgery, complex aortic and peripheral endovascular surgery, vascular trauma, and management of the complex diabetic foot.
The applicant must be a medical practitioner registered in the state of Victoria with a demonstrated interest in Vascular Surgery. The applicant will be involved in the service activities of the department including the on call and weekend roster, teaching and supervision of more junior colleagues, research and participation in the audit and education activities within the vascular surgery department. In addition, the vascular fellow will participate fully in the multi-disciplinary inpatient and outpatient care of the vascular surgery patients, taking a leadership role in coordination of the service unit
Qualifications:
