Occupational Therapist
- Opportunity to broaden your experience in Occupational Therapy in a public mental health setting
- Situated at the Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (AMHRU), Sunshine Hospital
- Fixed Term- Full Time including monthly ADOs until August 2022
This key role works within a dynamic multidisciplinary team of Medical, Allied Health and Nursing professionals, supporting a 26 bedded residential facility with 24 hour nursing support. Providing care to adults between the ages of 16-64 years of age, AMHRU residents require intensive recovery orientated treatment and interventions that are unable to be provided by less intensive community services. The team is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Occupational Therapist, Grade 2 to join our team.
Your new role:
- Lead and undertake a range of interventions, including individual, & group work, assessments of functioning, sensory modulation, NDIS, driving, all within a strength based recovery framework.
- You will have Clinical Supervision with the Chief Occupational Therapist
- The role also provides Case Management for a client during their admission to AMHRU.
About You:
- Experience in Clinical Mental Health settings
- Demonstrated experience & expertise in working with individuals with severe mental health problems
- A proven ability to provide clinical leadership and discipline specific professional guidance to clinical staff
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of clients who experience persistent psychosis and exhibit challenging behaviours
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge in the implementation of quality improvement programs
