Critical Care Registered Nurse/ Clinical Nurse Educator

The Royal Melbourne Hospital has an opportunity for passionate dedicated individuals to join our Nursing Education team. Provide staff, postgraduate and entry to practice students with appropriate supervision, training and instruction in accordance with Royal Melbourne Health policy and procedures.


The Royal Melbourne Hospital Emergency Department is a busy and unique team that provides high level acute care in a multi-disciplinary setting. We are a Level 1 Adult Trauma and tertiary referral centre, with over 85,000 presentations annually.

 

The service provides assessment, investigations and treatment of all patients who present and is part of a designated Major Trauma Service and has a high acuity case mix with an emphasis on Trauma, Infectious Disease, Chest Pain Evaluation, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry.



Your new role:

  • Responsible for supporting students including those completing Undergraduate placements, RISE (Registered nurses Introduction to Specialty Education) programs, Postgraduate students (affiliated with the University of Melbourne), and our Grade 2 new and experienced staff members
  • Strategies, design and implement our Royal Melbourne Educational Nursing Programs
  • Play a pivotal role in the ongoing professional development of nursing staff and students

About you:

  • Postgraduate Nursing qualification in Emergency Nursing
  • Current ED experience in an acute hospital
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive Nursing experience in specialty and demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, willingness to embrace change, and new ways of learning
