The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) provides specialist and general acute and sub-acute health services. Primarily serving the north-western communities of Melbourne, RMH also provides statewide and specialist services to rural and regional Victorians. Services range from Aged Care, Rehabilitation, Cardiac and Major Trauma, to Oncology, Intensive Care, General Medicine and Neuroscience.
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is part of Melbourne Health, which also includes NorthWestern Mental Health, North West Dialysis Service and the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory. Melbourne Health has an annual operating budget of $700 million and manages 1050 beds in the acute, sub-acute and community settings, and has 7000 staff.
The Radiology Registrar training program is run over 5 years with rotations to Ballarat, Peter McCallum, Mercy, Royal Children’s and Breastscreen, The teaching programme is run out of the Royal Melbourne in our new teaching facility with access to first class teaching and resources.
