The Northern Area Mental Health Service is an integrated network of mental health services providing psychiatric services to residents in the Cities of Darebin and Whittlesea. Services include Acute 50 bed In-patient Unit, Emergency Mental Health Service, Continuing Care Teams, Community Care Units and PARC.
Your new role
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Occupational Therapist to fill the role of a specialist Grade 2 Occupational Therapist.
- Further embed the team’s use of sensory spaces and equipment with consumers
- Coordinate and strengthen the multidisciplinary group program as a core intervention at PARC
- Provide specialist consultations, occupational therapy assessments and interventions as a member of the clinical team
- Support the maintenance of a recovery orientated therapeutic environment contributing to risk management and care
- Contribute to practice based and service oriented research and evaluation.
- Support and supervise OT students on placement
About you
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proven skills and relevant experience in working with clients with acute psychiatric illness
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse and complex clinical presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid knowledge of Sensory Modulation
