The acuity of our surgical case-mix  (particularly General surgery, colo-rectal, orthopaedics, gynaecology  and urology) continues to increase since the opening of our new facility, which in turn includes a new state of the art operating suite with 6 additional theatres as well as a critical care facility.

We have regular elective paediatric ENT lists and our department also services a busy level 4 obstetric unit (approximately 3800 deliveries per year)

The Department of Anaesthesia takes a lead role in local multidisciplinary simulation based training in obstetric emergencies (PROMPT training)

We also have a strong focus on Quality Assurance/Improvement with multiple projects in development and ongoing.
