Clinician/Senior Clinician – Mental Health

Orygen Specialist Mental Health Service is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and clinically skilled clinician to provide clinical services within our Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service. This team provides specialist youth mental health care in custodial settings including the Parkville and Malmsbury sites. 

 

The Royal Melbourne Hospital has an opportunity open to applicants at either Clinician or Senior Clinician level. This is a Part Time, Fixed Term - 4 days/week to Fulltime for Clinician or 9 day fortnight for Senior Clinician 12 month contract. The role is open to multidisciplinary - Allied Health (Social Work, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist) Grade 2 or 3, or RPN Grade 3 or 4.

Orygen is a world leading youth mental health service that is part of North West Mental Health and Melbourne Health.  Orygen provides treatment for young people aged 15 - 24 years who live in the west and north western suburbs of Melbourne.  It includes early intervention programs for psychosis, severe mood disorders and borderline personality disorder. The Custodial FYMHS team also sees young people presenting with ADHD, ASD, intellectual disability and complex trauma.

 

Our clinical program offers specialist inpatient care, crisis intervention and assessment, individual case management, family therapy and group interventions, intensive outreach services, community consultation, and training. Orygen Specialist Mental Health teams have strong links with research and training organisations including Orygen, the National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health.

Your Contribution:

  • Experience in the provision of mental health care, particularly in youth mental health.
  • Strong communication and clinical liaison skills
  • Proven capacity to liaise with and build positive relationships with service providers
  • Proven capacity to provide clinical services including in mental health care settings
  • Membership of your appropriate professional organisation
