The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.


We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Connecting Care EMR team. This is a Full Time Fixed Term position, working 80 hours per fortnight, based at Parkville.

 

Your Opportunity:

As the Connecting Care EMR Project Lead for Research you will be responsible for the design, build, configuration, testing and implementation of the Research application, functions and deliverables for the EMR at Melbourne Health, the Royal Women’s and Peter Mac.

You will work collaboratively with the RCH and Parkville EMR team, the EMR vendor and the health services to review existing workflows, content and configuration of the inpatient applications/functions and:

  • Identify changes or enhancements to the RCH EMR configuration to accommodate the new health services
  • Identify modifications required to deliver a solution that is fit for each health service
  • Identify opportunities for standardised and shared workflows

The Research project team will be a team of five consisting of one lead, three analysts and one principal trainer. The team is part of the EMR Data & Research team led by the Connecting Care EMR Project Manager - Data & Research Applications.

Research project team responsibilities including the following functional areas;

  • Research studies, clinical trials, order sets for study protocols, patient recruitment, establishment and maintaining data quality and data governance, and integration with electronic research management systems.

All application team members must complete successful certification in your application. All members of the Connecting Care EMR team will be required to work across all Parkville Health services. 


About You:

 

This is a senior position and would suit a candidate with a research background and/or skills and experience within the following professions;

  • Researcher
  • Clinical Trial Administrator
  • Clinical staff with experience in research and/or clinical trials
  • ICT

The successful applicant will have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree;
  • A minimum of 5 years of EMR, eHealth or hospital management experience;
  • Experience in leading the implementation of an EMR or eHealth system;
  • Experience leading a team;
  • Research experience, in particular within the Parkville Biomedical precinct will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in ICT project processes and lifecycle
