Life With Us:

The Victorian Centre of Excellence in Eating Disorders (CEED) is a state-wide program of Victoria’s Mental Health Services managed by NorthWestern Mental Health, part of Melbourne Health. CEED works with mental health clinicians and other health professionals and services involved in the care and recovery of people experiencing eating disorders and their families, through the provision of secondary case consultation support, professional development and service development support. CEEDs activities are informed by research evidence, clinical expertise and lived experience expertise of consumers and carers.


A Job To Be Proud Of:

Contribute carer lived experience expert perspective to CEED activities, including but not limited to:

  • Co-delivery of secondary case consultation and group case consultation with CEED clinical team members,
  • Develop and facilitate training with CEED team and relevant others
  • Contribute to CEED service development support and advice activities
  • Initiate and participate in the development of clinical and service resources regarding eating disorders
  • Maintain knowledge of the needs of, and the issues confronting carers of people experiencing eating disorders, in particular those accessing Victoria’s public mental health system
  • Build relationships with key stakeholder eating disorders and carer organisations
  • Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring in eating disorders policy, procedures and planning committees within regions and the state

Your Contribution: 

  • Lived experience as a carer or family member of a person experiencing an eating disorder
  • Experience in utilising carer lived experience in peer support or education
  • Knowledge of current issues in mental health, especially child, youth and adult eating disorders
  • Knowledge of the issues important to carers and consumers of mental health services
  • Ability to work sensitively and with a high level of confidentiality with a range of people
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with service leaders, clinicians, consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers
  • Current driver’s license
