Senior Mental Health Clinician - Continuous Improvement Lead

NorthWestern Mental Health Triage

 

  • Identify, develop and implement quality and performance improvement activities across NWMH Triage 
  • Actively develop and promote the direction of the Triage quality improvement program
  • Monday to Friday role within a 24/7 service.  

 

NorthWestern Mental Health has an opportunity available for a Senior Clinician (Registered Psychiatric Nurse – Grade 4 or Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Clinical Psychologist - Grade 3) to join our Triage team. We are seeking team oriented and experienced senior clinician to join our multidisciplinary setting and be a part of a brilliant team culture who have a genuine passion for clinical excellence and optimum patient care. The team at NWMH Triage is experienced, consumer focused and enthusiastic team, and we are seeking an experienced mental health clinician with recent experience or interested in clinical service continuous and quality improvement activities.

About us

 

Celebrating 11 years since the programs' inception, NWMH Triage is the largest mental health triage service in Victoria. We provide a single point of entry to NWMH and deliver a timely and consistent response to those requiring mental health service. 

 

Our Triage Service is a crucial function at the interface between the community and mental health services. The service is accessible, comprehensive and responsive to the needs of the consumers, their carers and families.

 

NWMH Triage provides services for adult and aged persons programs, youth services after hours. Additionally, providing specialist COVID surge response services supporting the Hotel Quarantine program, Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Minster for Mental Health. NWMH Triage has a long standing and successful program with Victoria Police.

The Senior Clinician – Continuous Improvement Lead is within NWMH Triage and will work with the Triage Manager, Triage Team Leader and Consultant Psychiatrist to;

  • Identify, develop and implement quality and performance improvement activities across NWMH Triage and monitor ongoing effectiveness and relevance. Including the development of evidence based clinical triage auditing tool and sustainable audit processes;
  • Co-coordinate the Triage education portfolio
  • Support the coordination of the quality and accreditation processes as required by the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and clinical governance frameworks;
  • Coordinate local clinical incident management review and related service improvement initiatives following review recommendations;
  • Represent NWMH Triage at RMH health care standard committees;
  • Actively develop and promote the direction of quality improvement program and continue to foster a culture of quality and safety within NWMH Triage with emphasis on consumer and carer focused services and outcomes;
  • Support management with the implementation of the findings of the Royal Commission into Victorian Mental Health Services;
  • Contribute to the development of evidence based Triage specific contributions to enhanced treatment plans and care planning.

The Senior Clinician – Continuous Improvement Lead is required to have the attributes and experience of a senior mental health clinician.  New appointments to NWMH Triage will complete a negotiated orientation period completing triage shifts, including experience working each shift across the 24/7 roster.
