Registered Nurses – Perioperative Operating Suite

  • Full Time Ongoing, Part Time Ongoing and Casual positions available
  • Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to grow and develop their clinical skills in a major trauma hospital
  • 4 main locations, Main Theatre, CSSD, 3 East/23 hour and 3 West Day Procedure

About the service:


As one of the leading tertiary trauma centres in Melbourne, the operating suite comprises of 16 theatres, 3 off the floor sites and 25 recovery bays supporting the provision of major surgical procedures such as; kidney transplant, free flaps, complex neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery and major orthopaedic and trauma e.g. pelvic, multi trauma.


Our Perioperative Services incorporate 4 main locations, Main Theatre, CSSD, 3 East and 3 West Day Procedure.

 

The Main Theatre is looking to grow our dedicated and knowledgeable team. We are wanting you to bring your demonstrated skills and experience within a theatre environment, to care for our diverse patients. The work we do takes us in inspiring new directions and helps us consolidate and expand our clinical skills. The Main Theatre hours of operation are staffed 24/7 with on-call staff required.

 

What will your typical day look like?

 

  • Actively and positively contribute to a high functioning multidisciplinary Perioperative nursing team
  • Promote patient advocacy, health promotion and teaching
  • Provide high quality standards of patient care. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care

What you will need to succeed:

  • Recent experience in an perioperative or similar role in an acute hospital setting (minimum 2 years)
  • You are an AHPRA Registered Nurse and are willing to work a range of AM/PM an night duty on call shifts within our supportive and dedicated multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency and trauma caseload including cardiopulmonary arrest situations
  • You have effective communication skills and a passion for continued professional development
  • Completion of a Post Graduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing or working towards completion is highly desirable
