We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our homeless team as a Mental Health Clinician and portfolio lead.  This initiative will work collaboratively with homelessness organisations to support vulnerable individuals residing in temporary hotel accommodation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  This position is part time 0.6 EFT, fixed term.

A Job to Be Proud Of:

  • You will manage a small caseload of consumers.
  • You will provide leadership to the team whilst representing your discipline as a senior clinician and lead relevant portfolios.
  • You will operate between the Waratah office (Moonee Ponds) and RMH.
  • You will participate in clinical service development activities within the team and encourage and support quality initiatives and research.
  • You will provide supervision to staff as well as students within the relevant discipline.
  • You will be supported by a supervisor, manager and team leader.
  • You will be part of a committed, enthusiastic and professional team that strives for the best outcomes for its consumers.
  • You will be involved in a service located in the heart of Melbourne.

Your Contribution:

  • Formal qualifications and registration.
  • You must have at least 5 years’ experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability.
  • You have a strong understanding of the legal and ethical principles of the Mental Health Act.
  • You are able to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and enjoy working autonomously.
  • You are confident in the provision of support and treatment for people experiencing drug and alcohol related issues and their families.
  • Excellent organisation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software use and information technology on the Microsoft Windows platform and ability to learn new programs and navigate databases.
