A exciting opportunity has arisin to work for a respected not-for-profit organisation, BioGrid Australia, focusing on two major projects, Australian Genomic Cancer Medicine Centre (AGCMC) Australian Rare Cancer (ARC) Portal and Data Platform Ethics and Governance. This is a national initiative that aims to enable the best treatment pathway to be enacted for each rural and regional rare cancer patient referred to the AGCMC ARC Portal.
Your opportunity
We are looking for a Project Officer to join our BioGrid team working 0.6 FTE on the AGCMC Rare Cancer Portal and 0.4 FTE on BioGrid’s data platform ethics and governance. This is a Full Time (or Part Time considered) opportunity based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) City Campus. Currently a 6-Month Maternity Leave replacement position however there may be potential to extend beyond this with other project work, so get in touch with us today!
Your new role
- Support administration of the AGCMC Rare Cancer Portal online referral service and the BioGrid Australia data platform ethics and governance.
- Support the recruitment and triaging of rural and regional rare cancer patients according to recruitment milestones.
- Manage high quality collaborations between BioGrid Australia, the Rare Cancer Portal and other AGCMC researchers to facilitate interactions and triaging of the Portal patients and the AGCMC study.
- Provide ongoing management of the ethics and governance approvals required for the BioGrid national data platform.
- Support the daily operation and monitoring of BioGrid’s Data Access Request System.
- Develop expertise in understanding database development and usage.
- Contribute to the development and review of business processes utilising JIRA and Confluence.
About You
- Formal qualifications of a Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- Experience and knowledge working in a health or biomedical science environment.
- Experience preparing and submitting Human Research Ethics Committee applications and reporting.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills (verbal and written) including team and client relationship management.
- Working knowledge of statistics, optimisation, visualisation and other mathematical techniques for data analysis.
