Forensic Clinical Specialist
- A unique opportunity for a senior mental health clinician interested in gaining new skills
- Based at Harvester Clinic, travelling across Mid-West sites required
- Full-time - 12 months until Sept 2022
The Mid West Area Mental Health Service (MWAMHS) is a part of NorthWestern Mental Health – Royal Melbourne Hospital. We are committed to working with consumers during their recovery by offering holistic and evidence-based (EB) treatment, which is inclusive of family/carers and provided by clinicians with well-developed skills. Our service strives to create the best possible learning opportunities available to compliment and support both emerging and existing expertise.
Your new role:
- Provide specialist support to our clinical programs focussing on forensic orientated mental health practice.
- Provide leadership and contributing to practice development at MWAMHS
- Provide practice support including advice, secondary consultation and direct assessment for identified consumers with an offending history or is at high risk.
- Assist in development of comprehensive risk assessment and management plans for identified high risk consumers.
- Be a key liaison between services such as Victoria Police, Community Corrections, Forensicare and Prison Services.
About you:
- At least 5 years post graduate experience in a relevant professional setting
- Clinical experience in a range of community mental health settings
- Well developed and effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholder sand service providers
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
