                                    Clinical Nurse Educator – Renal

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Nursing Education Department are looking to recruit a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Renal Nursing Education Team.  As part of the team, you will work together to provide clinically based education, supervision and support to nurses in formal learning programs and all other nursing staff. This is a leadership position where you will work in collaboration with the clinical area management and multidisciplinary teams to deliver nursing education initiatives and support to ensure a high standard of safe, effective and timely person-centred care to our patients. This is a Part-Time position, working 32 hours per fortnight.

Our Nurse Education team are professional role models, providing support for formal nursing programs (Undergraduate, Graduate and Post Graduate) and continuing education opportunities and initiatives for all nursing staff.

 

Our department works collaboratively with the Clinical environment, Research, our Precinct partners and our University Affiliations to embrace innovation, diversity and evidence-based best practice and patient care.  

 

Our Renal service is a nationally recognised comprehensive service caring for all aspects of acute and chronic kidney disease, renal transplantation, dialysis (haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis). Our transplantation service is the largest in Australia and our dialysis services support three metropolitan and 22 regional  satellite units throughout Victoria; as well as a large home dialysis service

 

Our diabetes & endocrinology service provide treatment, care and support for people with endocrine conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis, pituitary disease and thyroid disease

 

About you:  

  • Registered Nurse
  • Post Graduate Certificate (or equivalent) in Renal Nursing or Clinical Education
  • Extensive haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and general nephrology Diabetes or Endocrinology skills, experience and knowledge
  • Passionate, enthusiastic, willingness to embrace new ways of learning
  • Support, encourage and empower nurses to provide excellence in their work, prioritising safe patient care
  • Play a pivotal role in the ongoing professional development of nursing staff
